The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 that a top competitor for our commitment to Jesus is money. Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. Not having cash or check on hand doesn’t have to hold you back from giving; you can be obedient today by giving online. There is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church!
God is the best financial advisor. God’s counsel comes from learning the principles from His Word and instruction from the Holy Spirit. His answer to this question is only found through prayer and prayerful study of His word. Pray and ask God to lead you to a very specific amount or percentage to give. You can be certain that He will answer.
Are you looking to make an even bigger impact than just giving your tithe? Here are some other ways that you can get involved in changing lives through giving. Each of these funds provides unique opportunities to grow in our walk with the Lord and impact others for Him!
Last Christmas we began an initiative we have been calling “Heart for the House!” Our ultimate hope is that we can pay the mortgage off so the resources of MVC can be used to see more lost people saved, believers transformed and our community and world impacted! God has already blessed this initiative far beyond my wildest dream to the point that I believe our mortgage can be paid off by the end of next Christmas, if not sooner.
Last Christmas, the MVC Mortgage balance was $780,000. The Christmas offering of 2020 was $210,000. What has come in so far in 2021 has been $202,634 leaving us this Christmas with a mortgage in the area of $358,000. If we duplicate how we gave last Christmas and during this year we will have the mortgage paid off in two (2) years. That is God working through the people of MVC!
The Fellowship Fund is used to help with the emergency needs of many people in our church body who find themselves in temporary need. Those helped by this fund surely sense the love of the body of Christ.
Our general fund supports all the ministries of MVC. From providing bibles to students, to support missionaries/staff, to keeping up the needs of our campus!
Giving to a building fund may not seem exciting, but think again. The people inside these walls are serving God, are ministering to other, worshiping and teaching the Word of God and making disciples. The building is a blessing!

We have envelopes that are located right in the backside of the chairs in our Worship Center. You can drop them off at one of our generosity boxes located in each gathering space.
